Biography

Dr Sumera Memon is currently serving as Assistant Professor in, Media and Communication Department at Sukkur IBA University. She is an approved HEC Supervisor in the discipline of Arts and Humanities. Prior to this, she served at Sindh, Madressatul Islam University as Assistant Professor, Media and Communication Studies. Besides, she remains the Director of the Media Training Center, Coordinator of the department, and Editor of the Journal of Social Sciences and Media Studies (JOSSAMS). Dr. Memon also Served as a Visiting Lecturer at the Asian Institute of Cambodia for one semester. Dr. Memon has earned a Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in Communication from the School of Multimedia Technology and Communication (SMMTC) University Utara Malaysia. She has participated/presented her research papers at international and national conferences in Malaysia, Indonesia, China, and Pakistan. She presented research findings/ research papers at various International Conferences like MENTION- 2017, An International Conference on Media and Communication held in conjunction with UKM Malaysia, UNS's 1st International Awards and Summit 2017 at Universitas Sebelas Maret, Indonesia, and APRC 2016 at UUM and some others. In addition, Dr. Memon has presented research papers in different symposiums and colloquiums organized by SMMTC, AHSGS, Malaysia. Dr. Memon remained Editor,E- Proceedings of the Postgraduate Symposium on Advancing Research in Communication, Media and Multimedia: Theory, Methodology, and Application 2018 by the School of Multimedia Technology and Communication, Universiti Utara Malaysia. Dr. Memon has also expertise in Quantitative Research methods and she used advanced research techniques in her research papers. In connection with this, she attended many training workshops on Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), Publication Workshop (SPPW 2017, “Mandalay Reference Manager Training” “Literature Review: Tips towards Writing Quality Thesis” Smart PLS, AMOS, and SPSS. Her areas of specialization are “Political Socialization, Political Communication, Political Activities, Political Participation, News Media Consumption, and Freedom of Information.
