Biography

Dr. Faheem Gul serves as an Associate Professor of Marketing within the Department of Business Administration at Sukkur IBA University. In addition to this significant role, he also holds the esteemed positions of Director ORIC and Editor-in-Chief of the Sukkur IBA Journal of Management and Business. Dr. Faheem holds an MS and was awarded a Ph.D. with distinction from the School of Economics and Management, University of Science and Technology Beijing in P.R China. Dr. Faheem's research interests primarily revolve around consumers' motivation and emotion, with a special emphasis on brand passion, product design techniques, brand experiences, consumer behavior change strategies, CSR brand-fit, cross-cultural gender-specific consumer behavior differences, and self-determination theory. Impressively, Dr. Faheem has an extensive publication record, having published over 60 research papers in SSCI, ABDC, and SCOPUS-listed journals. His research papers have garnered more than 40,000 reads on ResearchGate, and he has received over 2000 citations on Google Scholar, with more than 1000 citations in just the last two years. Notably, Dr. Faheem received the top-downloaded author award in 2018–2019 and the top-cited author award in 2019-2020 from the Journal of Consumer Behaviour for his pioneering contribution to understanding e-waste disposal behavior. He has been the most popular/downloaded/cited author in the European Management Journal since 2019 for his seminal contribution to introducing a self-determination theory in marketing science as an alternative way of looking at consumer motivation. Dr. Faheem's remarkable portfolio as the lead author showcases noteworthy contributions to esteemed journals, including the International Journal of Hospitality Management (ABDC “A Star"), the Journal of Business Research (ABDC A), Psychology & Marketing (ABDC A), the Journal of Consumer Behavior (ABDC A), the Journal of Brand Management (ABDC A), the Journal of Product & Brand Management (ABDC A), the International Journal of Consumer Studies (ABDC A), Business Strategy & Environment (ABDC A), the International Journal of Market Research (ABDC A), and the International Journal of Bank Marketing (ABDC A), among other esteemed journals. Throughout his academic journey, Dr. Faheem excelled and earned numerous prestigious academic awards, including China’s most esteemed National Award and the Highly Commended Award for his outstanding dissertation in the field of Marketing and Brand Management.
