Biography

Dr. Farhan Shahzad is an Assistant Professor of Human Resource Management at the Department of Business Administration, Sukkur IBA University. He earned his PhD in Digital HRM from the University of Naples Parthenope, Italy. During his doctoral journey, Dr. Shahzad gained extensive international teaching experience. He taught a variety of courses including Business Management, Organizational Behaviour and Design, and Competitive Strategies for Agri-Food Companies to Erasmus students. He also had the privilege of teaching two modules of International Management at the University of Naples-Parthenope as part of the Master in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management (MiEM) program—offered in collaboration with the MIT Sloan School of Management, Cambridge, USA. Further enhancing his global academic exposure, Dr. Shahzad served as a Visiting Researcher at the Faculty of Management, Economy and Sciences, University of Catholique de Lille, France. Dr. Shahzad has authored several research papers published in reputed international journals, including Ivey Publishers, Emerald, and the Journal of Case Research and Inquiry (JCRI). His scholarly contributions have been presented at leading academic conferences across Asia, Europe, and the UK, such as ICBM 2023, BAM 2023, the 39th EAMSA Conference, IESS 2.5, and ICTO 2024/25. A passionate and student-centered educator, Dr. Shahzad employs interactive, case-based teaching methods that foster experiential learning. His classroom is dynamic and engaging, featuring role-plays, business simulations, talk shows, live case analyses, and team-based learning activities. He believes in placing students at the center of the learning process, valuing their perspectives, and empowering them to lead discussions that connect theory to practice. His teaching portfolio encompasses a wide range of contemporary HRM subjects, including AI & Technology in HR, Digital HRM, Global HRM, Talent Management, Gamified Learning, Performance Management, People Analytics, HR Policies, and HR Services. In addition to academia, Dr. Shahzad has conducted training workshops on Workplace Harmony, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), Upskilling and Reskilling, and offers consultation services on HR policy development. He also contributes to academic governance as a Member of the Curriculum Review Committee. Before joining Sukkur IBA University, Dr. Shahzad gained professional experience in the corporate sector as a Recruiter, which enriched his practical understanding of human resource functions and talent management strategies. Dr. Shahzad’s academic, research, and professional endeavors reflect his commitment to advancing knowledge in the field of Human Resource Management, particularly in leveraging digital transformation and AI for strategic HR practices.
